Nordic Credit Rating is registered as a credit rating agency (CRA) in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1060/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 September 2009 on credit rating agencies (the Credit Rating Agencies Regulation). A full list of registered credit rating agencies can be found here.
As a registered CRA, NCR qualifies as an External Credit Assessment Institution (ECAI) which means ratings can be used for regulatory purposes under the Capital Requirements Regulation for financial institutions and Solvency II Regulation for insurance undertakings. NCR's rating scale has been mapped by the Joint Committee of European Supervisory Authorities so that ratings published by NCR have full regulatory effect under European regulation. Credit ratings published by NCR have the same regulatory effect as similar credit ratings published by the incumbent CRAs. More information and the full mapping report can be found here.
