Nordic Credit Rating announced today that it has hired Sean Cotten and Carl Olsson. Both employees will be based out of the company's Oslo office but also spend time in Stockholm.
Sean Cotten will join the position as lead analyst for the rating of financial institutions. He joins from S&P Global Ratings where he spent the last seven years leading the rating agency's coverage of banks across the Nordic and Baltic region. In addition, Sean was involved in the coverage of large banks in Switzerland as well as global criteria projects. Prior to S&P, Sean spent four years within the Group Risk Modelling team at Nordea and two years as a consultant at Oliver Wyman. Sean holds a Master of Science with specialization in Finance from Stockholm School of Economics and has a dual Swedish and American citizenship. Sean will begin his position on January 19.
“I am looking forward to playing a key role for this exciting new company which provides an alternative for Nordic financial institutions. Although NCR is new, issuers, investors and market participants can expect thorough analysis and market understanding based on over a decade experience of the Nordic banking industry”, says Sean Cotten.
Carl Olsson will join NCR as Chief Compliance Officer. Carl joins from Transcendent Group, where he held a position as Senior Compliance Consultant, advising financial service firms on a broad-range of compliance-related topics. Previous roles include positions as a Regulatory Specialist at SIX Financial Information, Compliance Consultant at zeb Consulting, as well as being a stock broker at SpareBank1 Markets and Christiania Securities. Carl has a Master of Science with specialization in Political Economy from Uppsala University and will begin on May 1.
Carl comments: “Nordic Credit Rating is an important addition to the Nordic financial market. Coming from a compliance and risk background, I look forward to help lay the foundation for Nordic Credit Rating future growth.”
“Sean and Carl bring vital skills to NCR which will enable us to fulfil our mission of becoming an independent provider of excellent credit research with the highest standards of corporate governance. We are very happy to have them onboard”, says Gustav Liedgren, CEO of NCR.
