Svenska Skeppshypotek was founded in 1929 and finances shipping activities conducted by Swedish shipping companies or by a foreign legal entities where Swedish individuals or legal entities have significant influence. The company is fully owned by the Swedish government and its operations are governed by the Skeppshypotek law from 1980.
